Updates; a short story ;)

In order to try an be as efficient as possible and address everything at once, it is easiest to update here.

We have been overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of support regarding the emaciated female boxer. Updates on her condition and status will be posted to the Garfield Heights Animal Control Page and GM HART page as they are available.  We have been flooded by calls, emails, and messages regarding her, and unfortunately we are not able to answer each individually.  We will try to address all questions and concerns on the FB pages, so that the responses can be seen by all.  As there is an active court case going on, she is not available for adoption.  When and if she is available for adoption through GM HART, we will start screening and contacting potential adopters - all applications will be reviewed in order to find the best possible fit for her.

There have been dozens of offers to foster or adopt baby girl; the reality is, only one family will be able to do so.  We encourage, and would appreciate if, everyone that has shown interest in opening their home to her, would also take a look at our other adoptable animals that are in-need of foster and forever homes.  Even if we do not have the right animal for you, there are many fantastic rescues and shelters that are trying to save lives as well; there are many adoptable animals waiting to be fostered/adopted of all shapes and sizes.

Our Rescue-T Fundraiser ends in just 23 hours (03-15, 11:59PM EDT). We are only TEN shirts away from reaching our goal! After the fundraiser ends today, shirts will be printed and they should arrive to supports on March 31!

Lady Bug is in desperate need of someone to give her a chance and open their home to foster or adopt her.  She is a young (9-12 months) white and chocolate petite pittie.  She suffered some sort of trauma, which caused her eyes to bug out of her head, but with medication she is looking pretty as ever.  She is great with other dogs, and loves all people.

Falcor is a handsome white and grey long haired kitty who has been in foster for months.  He is looking for a home to call his own and a lap to curl up on.

Paxton, our hearthrob AmBull mix is 9-12 months, fully vetted and looking for an active family with lots of time to spend devoting to him :)  He is cat, dog and kid approved and has an amazing temperament and goofy personality.

Oliver is a shih-tzu mix also looking for his forever home.  He is an expert cuddler, good with other dogs, and house-trained.  He would be a great addition to any home, and is small enough to do fine in apartments or condos.

Garth, the brindle Bullmastiff that was recently (last week) at animal control was transferred to One Dog at a Time Rescue, and is in the care of Karin Shulin.  He is up for adoption and a huge hunk of goofy love.

Depending on the circumstances, if donations are needed for baby girl boxer, we will set up a youcaring account specifically for her care.

If you would like to donate in other ways, we could always use:
Blankets, towels
Leashes/collars
Canned dog and cat food
Dog beds
Durable toys, antlers, kongs
Replacement coolaroo bed covers
Gas gift cards (for volunteer transport)
Store gift cards (such as walmart, giant eagle - for chicken/rice, pet stores)

Fosters, adopters, and volunteers are also needed.
